Abstract: The principles for the design of evaluation device for granular catalyst are discussed, and an example of acetoxidation of ethylene on some new hollow cylindric catalyst is given. The U tubular reactor employed in this reaction practically achieves isothermal operation inside the bed, and presents good comparable results in screening new catalyst.
