    • Three kinds of modified tannins were prepared through reactions of aminomethylation, quaternary ammonium salt formation in the laboratory.The different molecular masses were studied by IR. Weight losing and polarization curve were used to investigate the anticorrosive properties and reaction mechanism of the modified tannins. The products' behaviors in scale inhibition and sterilization were also studied. Modification was proved effective to improve tannin's multi efficiency in water treatment.
