Wearability and Anticorrosion Property of Siliconized Layers on Copper Alloy

    • A siliconized nonporous layer on copper alloy may be obtained by efficient siliconizing in powder mixtures. Measurements of the microscopic structure of the coating, the effect of surface form of the workpiece and temperature maintaining time on the thickness of the coating, behaviour of friction-wear and corrosion potential were made, and then a preliminary inquiry was submitted. It is shown that siliconized layers on copper alloy have superior wearable (above four times as much), antifrictional and anticorrosive properties in sulphuric acidic (20%and 51% H_2SO_4) corrosion media relative to uncoated samples.
