Reinforced EPDM with DMC

Reinforced composite was prepared by ethylene propylene diene monomer(EPDM) and dough-modeling compound(DMC),in which a EPDM is continuous phase(matrix) and DMC is a disperse phase(reinforced phase) at first.Then the best blending formula can be made by measuring their properties.The results show that the compatibility and the covulcanization of EPDM/DMC blends are better.When m_(DMC)/m_(EPDM) is 100/90,the physical properties of the blends are good.Curing agent dicumyl peroxide(DCP) cured the blends,whose heat ageing resistance are the better,but the improvement of Shore A hardness and elongation at break are not obviously,as curing agent BPO,their heat aging coefficient of (elongation) at break and Shore A hardness are improved obviously,and their integral performances have had the(advantages) of EPDM and DMC.
