Study on Components of Coal Tar by Fluorescence Spectroscopy

    • For studying components of coal tar in order to minimize interference, before identifying and measuring, nine fractions of coal tar are obtained by sequential elution with nine kinds of solvents, petroleum ether, 80% petroleum ether/20% toluene, 60% petroleum ether/40% toluene, 40% petroleum ether/60% toluene, 20% petroleum ether/80% toluene, toluene, chloroform, 50% chloroform/50% methanol, and methanol. Twenty eight components of coal tar which are naphthaleme, acenaphtheme, diphenyl, trimethylphenol, phenathrene, quinoline, isoquinoline, fluorene, p-aminophenol, benzidine, anthraquinone, anthracene, tetraline, 2, 5-xylenol, carbazole, resorcinol, 2, 6-diethylaniline, isatin, 1, 2, 4-trimethylbenzene, 1, 3, 5-trimethylbenzene, 1, 2-naphthoquinone, phenanthrenequinone, chrysene, pyrene, dibenzofuran, 1, 2-benzanthracene, 2, 3-benzanthracene, and 1, 2-benzpyrene are identified in nine fractions. Twelve components are measured quantitatively in chloroform fraction and methanol fraction.
