Synthesis and Study of Endothelial Progenitor Cells Capturing Polyurethane

    • A novel side chain dendronized polyhydric polyurethane was synthesized by sequential conjugation of amine -terminated fourth generation polyester dendrons with pendent carboxyl groups of polyurethane and deprotection of acetonide groups at the surface of dendrons. The polyurethane base polymer was synthesized using PCDL as soft segments, HDI as hard segments, and bis-MPA as chain extenders. The polyhydric polyurethane was used to immobilize CD133 antibody by hydrogen bonding. Endothelial progenitor cells (EPC) attachment was significantly enhanced on the surfaces of the CD133 antibody immobilized polyurethane, which may be contribute to improve the hamoecompatibility of the blood contacting materials by quick endothelialization.
