Application of Analytic Hierarchy Process Cost Effectiveness Model for Selection of Water Treatment Drug

A unique cost effectiveness model was developed employing the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) combined with the principle of value engineering.The model was successfully applied for identifying the best among the five alternative formula as sodium nitrite replacement in the chemical mixture for treating the close loop cooling water. The model performed cost effectiveness calculations with due consideration of corrosion and scale inhibition, environment and economics factors.
