    A Single Half-ellipse Notch Plate to Simulate the Strain Fields at the Nozzle Zone of Vessels

    • A single half-ellipse notch plate(SHENP)was designed to simulate the behavior of nozzle zone of vessels. There is a good agreement between the computer results by elastic-plastic finite element methods and the experimental data.It is shown that the characteristic of the strain distribution of the SHENP is the same as that at the nozzle zone of vessels peak strain,high strain gradient,elastic fields all around.
