Block-implicit solution of pressure-linked equations

Two alternative solution strategies of Block ADI method were proposed. An irrotational corner flow, for which an analytic solution is available, was chosen as a modelproblem. The numerical results agree with the analytic one quite well. A comparison of computational time and iteration number between Block ADI and SIMPLE has been made. It has been shown that convergence could be sped up by using Block ADI. The optimum relaxation factors during iteration were also investigated.
