Tissue Engineering in Vitro Reconstitution of Human Tissues

Basic, clinical and biotechnological researchers have been seeking methods to fully or partially reconstitute human functional tissues such as skin, bone marrow, nerve and liver ex vivo . The development of animal cell and tissue culture technology in vitro made the above effort possible. This growing area of research was termed as tissue engineering, and is becoming a prominent area in biotechnology. In this article, the research status, applications and existing problems of the tissue engineering were reviewed.
