Abstract
The Borchardt-Daniels method used in thermal kinetics analysis of organic compounds by DSC(differential Scanning Calorimeter)/DTA(differential thermal analysis) was improved for the kinetic parameter computation and thermal property evaluation of PUA(polyurethane acrylate) resins by TGA((thermogravimetry) analysis).Through pre-treating the TGA data by the carefully selected smoothing/(denoising) algorithms and solving the treated TGA data by multiple linear regression, the related kinetic(parameters) of the PUA in thermal decomposition were obtained without any arbitrary assumption or(exploratory) computation about the reaction order. The thermal properties of PUA resins were semi-quantitatively evaluated by service lifetime defined and computed from the present singleTGA-curve methodology. The analysis results are proved to be better than that of Ozawa-Flynn-Wall method. The hypothesis used in the methodology and the temperature limits selected are reasonable and acceptable by the activation energy versus conversion curve computed from the Ozawa-Flynn-Wall method. The thermal properties of the PUA resins synthesized are experiments. All of the algorithms were performed on the Matlab 6.5 platform.
