    Measurement of Equivalent Diameter and Effective Thermal Conductivity of a Hollow Cylindrical Catalyst

    • The pressure drop and two dimensional temperature profiles of a new hollow cylindrical vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst were measured in packed bed, and active ingredients were maldistributed on the inner and outside surface of this hollow cylinder. The experimental data of pressure drop was used to calculate equivalent diameter d s by Ergun formula. d s was adopted to calculate the effective thermal conductivity of this kind of hollow cylindrical catalyst. The effective radial conductivity and wall heat transfer coefficient were gained by using orthogonal collocation method to solve pseudo homogeneous model.
