Abstract
A process was established for the modification of nanosized TiO 2 particles by butyl titanate coupling agent and methyl methacrylate, and the coating structure and the dispersion properties were investigated by TG DTA, FTIR, etc.. The results show that a reaction can take place between titanate and -OH groups on TiO 2 surface,leaving the titanate coupled to the powder surface. Methacrylate (MMA) was engrafted on the surface of nanosized TiO 2 to improve its dispersity and stability.
