    Effects of NanoScale MgTiO3 on Sintering Behavior and Dielectric Properties of Mg(Ca)TiO3 Microwave Dielectric Ceramics

    • To lower the sintering temperature of MgTiO3CaTiO3 ceramics,nanoscale magnesium titanate powder was synthesized by solgel method, using butyl titante and magnesium nitrate as precursors. The properties of the dried powder were examined by DTA, XRD, FTIR and SEM. The powder particles were uniformly distributed with average size of 100 nm. The effects of nanoscale MgTiO3 powder additive on sintering behavior and microwave dielectric properties of assynthesized MgTiO3CaTiO3 were investigated. Results showed that when 20% (mol fractcon) nanometer MgTiO3 powder was added, the sintering temperature of MgTiO3CaTiO3 was reduced from 1 350 ℃ to 1 250 ℃, while the bulk density reached 97% of the theoretical value. Excellent dielectric properties were achieved with dielectric constant εr of 19.3, and loss tan σ of 1.31×10-3(1.23 MHz).
