Optimal Scheduling for Batch Distillation Columns

Optimal schedule for a set of multicomponent batch distillation columns has been searched out by powell technique, which is simple and easy to perform and resulting schedule charts are vivid and readable. Simulation runs show that the total time needed for both feed and slot handling is significantly shorter following the optimal schedule than following the other ones. And the problem formulation of this paper will be available for other batch processes.
