    ffect of Calcium-Based Flux on the Melting Characteristics of Coal Ash from Coal Blends Using Liuqiao No.2 Coal Mine in Northern Anhui

    • The effect of calciumbased flux on the melting characteristics of ash from coal blends of Liuqiao No.2 Coal Mine in Northern Anhui (AQ007) was investigated. The compositions of minerals in AQ007 under various treating temperatures before and after adding calciumbased flux was determined by XRD and FTIR. Results show that the formation of mullite at a temperature over 1 000 ℃ results in increasing of the melting point of coalash. Anorthite is formed in the presence of calcium-based flux.The low temperature eutectic mixtures such as anorthite and gehlenite are easily formed in calcium compounds at high temperature, which will remarkably decrease coal ash melting point.
