Abstract
The texture and phase structure of the polyester from 1,4-dichloroacetate hydroquinone and 4,4'-dihydroxy-1,8-diphenoxyhexane were investigated with hot-stage polarized light microscopy and DSC. The results showed that the liquid caystalline glass of the polyester is obtained after a cycle of heating and cooling, The analysis of phase transition entropy confirmed above conclusion. In addition, the formation of liquid crystalline glass of thermotropic polymers was analyzed on the basis of thermodynamics and kinetics.
