Synthesis and Properties Characterization of Thermoplastic Sulfone-Polyetheramide Elastomers

Amide-terminated polyamide and isocyanate-terminated polyol synthesized by the solution polycondensation,mixed at different ratios to prepare thermoplastic sulfone-polyetheramide(PEA) elastomers.Structure characterization and phase miscibility was examined by FT-IR,DSC,()~1H-NMR spectroscopic measurements.The heat-resistance is highly improved because of the introduction of amide group and urea group and the polyester group endowed the polymer with good flexibility.Meanwhile,the dissolution of the hard polyamide segment into soft polyester domains decreased with increasing molecular weights of soft segments or increasing contents of hard segments.As a result,the solubility of PEA elastomers in solvent decreased.
