    Simulation of Deformation and Retraction of Liquid Crystalline Polymer Droplet

    • A modified model was established to depict the deformation and retraction process of dispersed LC-5000 droplet in PC, which was based on the ellipsoid model by introducing mesoscopic size variation of LCP domain in flow and the structure dependent interracial tension. The predicted values of the retraction process of LC-5000 deformed droplet are almost consistent with the experiment results, while the prediction of deformation process is not completely fit the experiment results, but the prediction of deformation process by the modified model is better than that of the original model.
