Synthesis of Polystyrene-Supported Quinuclidine and Its Use as Catalyst for Morita-Baylis-Hillman Reactions

    • Poly(styrene-co-3-(4-vinylbenzyloxy)-1-aza-bicyclo[2,2,2]octane) was prepared by the copolymerization of 3-(4-vinylbenzyloxy)-1-aza-bicyclo[2,2,2]octane and styrene. This supported tertiary amine was used as a heterogeneous catalyst in both intra and intermolecular Morita-Baylis-Hillman and aza-Morita-Baylis-Hillman reactions. The products of all the reactions can achieve middle-level yields.
