A Crystal-Form-Modification Effect of Sensitizing Dyes on Silver Bromide in Phothographic Emulsions

The effects of sensitizing dyes sodium 3,3'-bis(3-sulfopropyl)-5,5'-diphenyl-9-ethyl-oxacarbocyanine and 3,3'- bis( 3-sulfopropyl )-11-ethyl-dibenzoe,e'thiacarbo-cyanine inner salt on the forms of silver bromide crystals were investigated.It was indicatedthat these two compounds had crystal-form-modification effects ,and it was influenced by thekinds and amount of the incorporated sensitizing dyes.Under certain condition,the sensitiz-ing dyes could enhance or inhibit the grownth of crvstals.
