    A Method of Deriving Material Creep Properties by ThreePoint Bending Small Specimen Tests

    • A method of deriving creep properties by threepoint bending creep tests is described. Based on this method, the threepoint bending creep tests of 23CrMoNiWV88 steel operated at constant loads and temperature(540 ℃) are simulated by finite element method. The variation of central deflection and stress with time are analyzed. The numerical results show that it is feasible to obtain creep parameters from the small bending specimen. Furthermore, the relationship between the threepoint bending and uniaxial creep tests is conducted and creep constants are derived. The results show that the creep constants estimated from threepoint bending creep tests agree well with those theoretical values, and the analytical formula are modified according to the numerical results. Meanwhile, the necessities to study experiments further are also analyzed.
