Spline-Based Surface Modification for Complicated Mold

The computer-aided modification for complicated mold is investigated.The method of single-point modification and area modification on outer surface of complicated mold is introduced.Three models for modification based on spline fitting and features of the splines are discussed.The modification methods and mathematical expressions are given based on the above models.The spline fitting is applied to the design of shoe mold.The feasibility is also proven.
