Abstract
Oxidation of o xylene has been taken as a reaction system in this paper. Orthogonal collocation method and continue program are used to solve the model of the system numerically. The multiplicity regions are obtained. The results indicate that axial thermal feedback can result in multiple steady state of reactor and can improve operational stability of the reactor. The experimental results indicate that placing heat conducting inserts in the reactor can extend multiplicity zone.
