    Performance of Chemical Heat Pump Packed with A New Adsorption Material

    • A newly developed material IMPEX, a monolithic adsorbent for NH_3 adsorption/desorption, is applied for residual heat recovery in chemical heat pump. Experimental studies have been made on the enhancement of heat transfer using IMPEX. Reaction rates of the SrCl_2-NH_3 system under several operating conditions are measured to explore the effect of the reaction driving force on the rate. The experiment has shown that IMPEX can greatly improve the heat conductivity in the reactor. It is also shown that SrCl_2-NH_3 is a proper adsorption/desorption system for residual heat recovery.
