Effect of grease on EHD film thickness of rolling bearing

The measurement of the thickness of lubricating film in rolling bearing was carried out by applying strain gage method. The lubricants are greases thickened with different thickenrs. The results show that the film thickness of grease lubrication depends not only upon the bare oil, but also upon the types and the concentration of thickeners. Some principles to choice convenient type and structure of grease under different conditions were suggested.
