Synthesis and Scale Inhibition Ability of Sulfonated AA-AM Copolymer

A copolymer of acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide(AM) was synthesized by water solution polymerization,and then sulfonic acid group was intruduced to the copolymer molecular chain by chemical modification.The sulfonated AA AM copolymer(AA AM S) was prepared.AA AM S was characterized by IR,NMR,TG and DTA.Factors effecting the efficiency of scale inhibition were studied.The experiment results show that AA AM S is an excellent scale inhibitor.\;
