Synthesis of Ti-HMS Using Inorganic Ti Sources

    • In this paper, a novel method for preparing mesoporous Ti HMS has been developed. By means of stabilizing Ti 4+ with H 2O 2, a s eries of Ti HMS have been synthesized using different inorganic titanic salts a s Ti sources. Being characterized by XRD, N 2 adsorption, FT IR and UV Vis, t he samples showed ordered mesoporous structure and Ti atoms have been incorporat ed into the framework. In catalyzing oxidation of styrene with hydrogen peroxide (H 2O 2), the Ti HMS samples prepared with inorganic Ti sources exhibits comp arable catalytic activity with that of Ti HMS prepared with organic Ti species( TBOT). The nature of inorganic titanic salts has considerable influence upon the incorporation of Ti into silica framework.
