Preparation and Performance of Salt-Tolerant Chromatographic Adsorbent

A mixed-mode and salt-tolerant adsorbent was exploited,by adopting cellulose/TiO_2 composite beads as matrix,just after activating and then functionalizing the matrix to simultaneously introduce hydrophobic and ion-exchange groups.The performance tests indicate that the protein binding capacity of the prepared adsorbent is independent on the salt concentration in the solution.The capacity of BSA and Lysozyme were 27 mg /mL and 40 mg /mL in buffer solution containing 0.25 mol/L NaCl respectively.
