Abstract

This paper introduces the microscopic fatigue test--a kind of new fatigue test method.The new testing system is capable of doing very fine fatigue tests on the metal-lographic level. The whole fatigue courses can be observed and recorded at any time duringthe test.It makes us possible to explore and understand fatigue crack initiation and earlypropagation to reveal some unknown facts from the very fine testing results.
