Multi-peak Distribution Measurement of Discrete Sample Data and Its Application

By analyzing the multi-peak distribution of discrete sample data, a statistical index of multi-peak distribution degrees is defined and the computing formula is given in this paper. The multipeak distribution degree is measured by means of the concave area between the peaks' values of those samples. Then, the procedure is presented to identify the samples with multi-peak distribution and to measure the distribution degree. Finally, the proposed method is illustrated by using an application example, in which the causes of multi-peak distribution are analyzed and the solving method is given.
