The Bilinear Modeling and Variable Structure Control of the Coker

A method of modelling bilinear systems and designing variable structure controller based on a synthetical optimization, algo rithm is presented in this paper. It is used in a delay coking plant for which a bilinear model is built and a variable structure controller designed. The dithering problem of such a controller has also been solved. Simulation results show that this method is fairly effective.
