    Synthesis of N-(2,6-Dialkylphenyl)-2-Furoamide Ni Complex and Its Catalytic Behavior for Polymerization of Methyl Methacrylate

    • Under the effect of PCl3, four compounds of N(2, 6dialkylphenyl)5butyl2furoamides (alkyl: ethyl, isopropyl) were synthesized by reaction of 3furoic acid, 5butyl2furoic acid with aniline, 2, 6dialkyl aniline, respectively. A novel nickel complex, N(2, 6diethylphenyl)5butyl2furoamide Ni(Ph)(PPh3) was prepared via corresponding ligand and trans[NiCl(Ph)(PPh3)2]. The structures of furoamide compounds and the Ni complex were characterized by 1HNMR, IR, MS and EA. In the presence of methylaluminoxane (MAO) as cocatalyst, the nickel complex exhibited a mediate activity for the polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) and syndiotacticrich poly(methyl methacrylate) was obtained.
