    Morphology and Structure of TiO_2 Nanoparticles Preparation with Gas Combustion

    • The preparation technology of TiO 2 nanoparticles was investigated with gas combustion of CO with O 2. The mean particle size of TiO 2 particles synthesized by the oxidation of TiCl 4 is less than 100nm, of which the crystal is rutile or a mixture of rutile and anatase. The mean particle size of TiO 2 particles decreases with increasing mixing temperature, decreasing TiCl 4 concentration and residence time. The mass fraction of rutile in the TiO 2 particles synthesized increases with increasing TiCl 4 concentration and residence time. The mean particle size decreases and the rutile fraction increases when TiO 2 is doped by Al 2O 3.
