Abstract
By using a Smith-predictor type of lime delay compensator, the self-tuning PID (or PI) control algorithms based on the arbitrary stable margin and the pole-placement are respectively proposed to handle second-order (or first-order) open-loop stable processes with unknown or varying time delays. The simulation results show that these algorithms are simple, applicable and convenient for the applications.
