The syntheses of 2-methylsulphonyl pyrimidine compounds and their application to the preparation of reactive dyes

With thiourea as raw material 2-methylsulphonyl-4,5-dichloro-6-methylpyrimidine has been prepared, through methylation, cyclization, chloration and oxidation giving a total yield of 53.5%. And starting with thiourea and diethylmalonate, reactive intermediates, 2-methyl-4,6-dichloro-5-substituted (-5-Me, H, Br, Cl) pyrimidine, have also been synthesized through a series of intermediate steps. All of them can be used for the preparation of a series of reactive dyes.
