Abstract
This paper describes a gasification study using briquettes in a small single tube reactor. The gasification test for producing blue gas was conducted with briquettes made by a mixture of fine coal and shift agents. It has been studied that the composition and yield of product gas are affected by several conditions such as:the type and quantity of the shift agent; temperature and time of gasification reaction;steam flow rate etc.The results indicate that the Ca-group shift agent can reduce CO content about 10%;and the Ca-Na compound shift agent can increase gas yield greatly. These results have been verified through the industrial gasification test in a twostage blue gas gasifier. So the process of gasification can be simplified and the gas cost can be reduced.
