Improved Method of MassExchange Network with Multiple Impurities Deficit Diagram

The optimization of mass-exchange network is important for improving availability of resources. In this paper， a modified method was proposed to avoid the iterative calculation for the method of mass-exchange network with multiple impurities deficit diagram. Firstly, all the impurity concentrations of the source and the sink are multiplied. Then, the products are ranked, and the order is defined as the overall merit index R. The sinks and sources are re-ranked with increased R. For all impurities, impurity profiles and the impurity deficit diagrams are constructed. Finally, the pinch and the minimum utility consumption can be obtained. Iterative calculation is avoided and the computational efficiency increased using the modified method. A hydrogen network and a water allocation network are analyzed by using the improved method.
