Wavelet Analysis of Bubbling in Gas-liquid Bubble Column with a Single Orifice

    • The time-series data measured by double-sensor conductivity probe in a single orifice bubble column was analyzed using an energy maxima criterion of wavelet energy spectrum. The effects of liquid property and orifice diameter on bubbling were investigated using maximal scale intensity. The bubbling process had three stages as the Reynolds number increased: low-frequency bubbling, transition bubbling and high-frequency bubbling. The maximal scale intensity increased with increasing liquid viscosity, while the orifice diameter affected only the value of maximal scale intensity at a high Reynolds number.
