Abstract
The gas-liquid flow and catalyst bed expansion status in slightly expanded-bed of residue hydro treating reactor was simulated under normal reaction temperature and pressure with simulated oil and air.The effect of catalyst physical characteristics, dummy gas and liquid velocity and catalyst bed height on catalyst bed expansion ratio was researched.Test results show that bed expansion ratio of catalyst with big particle diameter and low bulk density is higher than that of catalyst with small particle diameter and high bulk density. There is a knee point in the curve between dummy gas velocity and catalyst bed expansion ratio which increases with the increasing of catalyst bed height, dummy liquid velocity has smaller influence to catalyst bed expansion ratio and catalyst bed expansion ratio of slight expanded-bed residue hydro treating reactor is lower than 10% under normal reaction condition, catalyst bed height has evident influence to bed expansion ratio,so higher gas-liquid ratio must be used to guarantee the catalyst bed to be slightly expanded when catalyst loading quantity is large.
