A study of the action of coupling agents on the interface between polypropylene and glass fiber with FT-IR and DSC

By FT-IR and DSC, the chemical reaction on the interface between the polypropy-lene and glass fiber using the following two systems of coupling agent was studied. A: Fumaric acid-Chromic nitrate Complex (FCC); B: FCC+4, 4-Dimaleic Imide Biphenylether. After the surface treatment with A or B on PP or glass fiber, some new chemicalbonds produce on the interface, and also the coupling agents have nucleation action onpolypropylene.
