    Application of AUSM+ Scheme for Simulation of Viscous Flows in Subsonic, Transonic and Supersonic Range

    • The governing equations of compressible flows are discretized using a finite volume method. Rhie Chow’s interpolation is replaced by the AUSM+ scheme. Detailed procedure for calculating the velocity and pressure in the face of control volume is presented. The velocity pressure coupling is obtained through a pre conditioning method, which makes the AUSM+ scheme applicable for flows at all speeds. The algorithm is widely validated by calculating the flows at all speeds, from subsonic, transonic to supersonic range. Results show that the AUSM+ scheme is able to obtain better agreement with benchmark solutions, as compared with those using Rhie Chow’s interpolation method.
