Studies on Ultrafiltration Flux Rate of Glucoamylase

Based on concentration polarization-gel layer mathematical model, effects of various factors on ultrafiltration flux rate of glucoamylase solution have been studied. Experimental results show that with the build-up of the gel-polarization layer, flux rate decreases with the increasing permeate volume and bulk concentration, and increases with the increasing stirring rate and fluid flow velocity across the membrane. Increasing the operating pressure has no positive effect on flux rate. Flocculation and moderately increasing the temperature will enhance the ultrafiltration flux rate of glucoamylase broth.
