    Dynamic Separation Behavior Analysis of Formic Acidin Dehydration Column of Acetic Acid Plant

    • The mathematical model of separation process in acetic acid production plant was developed. The results of dynamic simulation analysis for dehydration column at operating conditions shows that the profile shape and the location of rich zone of formic acid are related to material splitting ratio, reflux ratio, feed and side stream locations. By increasing the output flow rate of side stream, the concentrations of formic acid and chlorine ion can be reduced, and therefore, the equipment corrosion rate could be decreased and the plant lifetime may be prolonged.
