    Flow Behavior through Venturi Rod Banks in WFGD Spray Tower

    • Based on the observation and measurement in cold-modelling test, the flow behavior through Venturi rod banks in WFGD spray tower was studied numerically with Euler-Euler multiphase model. The characteristics of pressure drop and liquid holdup under operating conditions were simulated. The results show that resistance coefficient (λ) is proportional to Reg-0. 58 and Rel0. 65 and the liquid holdup (H) is proportional to Reg0. 52 and Rel1. 06. Introducing rod banks is beneficial to the increase in liquid holdup and the decrease in V1/Vg. The correlation for pressure drop and liquid holdup is instructive for engineering application.
