Abstract:
Based on the principle of modified corresponding state,an equation to calculate the thermal pressure coefficients of liquids over a wide temperature range from the triple point to the critical point was established, which has only a molecular size-dependent parameter. It is found that this parameter has good linear relation with the molar volume of liquid at normal boiling point. The predicted results of the thermal pressure coefficients show that the average relative deviation from the experimental values is about l. 7% for forty-two liquids.
