Abstract:
A series of tri-block copolymers of styrene/ tetradecyl methyl acrylate/ 3-methacryloxyl-propyl thimethoxyl silane(PSTK) was synthesized by atom transfer radical polymerization(ATRP).The structures of those copolymers were characterized by means of gel permeation chromatography(GPC),(infrared) spectrum(IR),and nuclear magnetic resonance(()~1H-NMR).Effect of tri-block copolymers on the mechanical properties of glass fiber/polypropylene composites was also investigated. The results show that impact strength and flexural modulus of glass fiber/ polypropylene increase greatly using the copolymer coupling.
