Abstract:
A reaction kinetic study for electrochemical reduction of nitrobenzene was performed at Cu electrode in H_2SO_4 aqueous solution. The study was carried out on a rotating disc electrode at four different temperatures. Quantitative reaction rates were obtained by di-fferential-conversion experiments and indentified by integral-conversion experiments.Thekinetic expressions represent a simplified schame for cleetroreduction of nitrobenzene to anilineand phenylhydroxylamine, and incorporate the dependence on reactant concentration, temperatureand potential. Results of this paper are suitable for use in reactor design and process moldeling.
