Abstract:
The effects of MMA and alumina trihydrate (ATH) on properties of oligourethane methacrylate (UM) resins were investigated. And the curing reactivities of unsaturated polyester (UP) resin, vinyl ester (VE) and UM resin were compared by various methods. The results show that the effects of MMA and ATH on viscosity, curing reactivity, mechanical properties, hardness, and flame resistance of UM resin are obvious. The apparent values of the curing activation energy of UM resin, UP resin and VE resin are obtained by DAT method. The results are as follows: 45.5 kJ/mol, 56.7 kJ/mol and 75.8 kJ/mol respectively. Experimental results are confirmed that the curing reactivity of UM resin is higher than UP and VE resin.
