Abstract:
Six lead based electrodes(Pb,Pb-0.5% Sn,Pb-0.8% Sn,Pb-1.78% Sn,Pb-1.35% Sn-(0.049%) Ca,Pb-0.8% Sn-0.1% Ca-0.1% Ce) were prepared,and their performance as the anode for electrochemical generation of ozone was evaluated.Sn and Ce ingredients resulted in less Pb release and a higher water oxidation over-potential which was responsible for enhanced ozone generation(higher current efficiency).Combined with the use of a Pt cathode,in K_2SO_4 electrolyte,operating at a controlled current of 7.5 mA,pH=1,and its current efficiency is up to 19%.
